A woman has sought help from the public to assist her son suffering from stage 4 neuroblastoma cancer.
The woman who goes by the name Arinola in a video said her eight year old son, David Mofopeoluwa, has been battling stage 4 neuroblastoma cancer for 3 years now, having undergone 2 surgeries and 27 cycles of chemotherapy.
The disease which is a rare cancer according to medical research experts develops in nerve tissues and affects kids under five years of age, with symptoms such as decreased appetite, a lump in the belly, chest, or neck, and fatigue.
The boy has also been receiving series of blood transfusions and platelets, which has cost the family lots of money already.
Arinola whose son is shown laying a bed in the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, said the son was supposed to be taken to India for a transplant, however, the money needed for the journey has not been realised.
She is thereby calling on the public to assist her with funds.
She said, the only money she has been able to save is less than £30 in the GoFundMe account created for the boy and ₦100,000. None of these funds has come from donations.
“Mofopefoluwa is a great kid, a hero, and we do not want to lose him. Now, he needs a transplant in India,” she said.
“We believe and do know that he will make it through, but we are drained
Although we have lost everything, we do not want to give up.
“We only have less than £30 in his GoFundMe account, and the only naira we have raised is 100k plus, and since then, we haven’t received any donations to date.
“I just want to urge us to support Mofopefoluwa through this journey,” Arinola added.
