The sole military administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (Rtd.), has suspended the secretary to the State government, commissioners, and other appointees in the State.
According to a statement released by the Chief of Staff to the administrator on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, the suspension was done under the directive of the president, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Heads of agencies, Special Sdvisers, Senior Special Advisers, officials of commissions and public parastatals, and board members are all part of the suspension.
Every commission would now be headed by Permanent Secretaries, and in cases where there is no permanent secretary, the most senior official in the agency, Director or Head of Administration would take charge.
All the suspended officials have been ordered to hand over all responsibilities and documents to the new leaders in their ministries and agencies.
