The senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has cautioned Nigerians both home and abroad to discontinue raining curses on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the country at large, saying it is not good, urging citizens to support the president irrespective of political affiliations.

Speaking to newsmen wearing a “Tinubu for President 2027” dress after a plenary, Kalu said, “We don’t want this country to break. We want the country to continue being our country. I am a product of this country, and I am very proud that I am a Nigerian,” Kalu stated.

He expressed concern over Nigerians who, especially while abroad, criticize their homeland and its leadership. “It is not good, whether you are in opposition or in the ruling party, to curse your president or your country,” he added.

Highlighting the transient nature of political power, Kalu remarked, “Tinubu is not the owner of the country. At most, he will stay eight years, and after that, we will take back our country. Buhari is in Daura now. One day, Tinubu will go back to Lagos in 2031.” He called on Nigerians to rather pray for the president’s good health and longevity to complete his tenure successfully.

When asked about his outfit, he proudly stated his endorsement of the president Tinubu for a second term, mentioning his achievements and how the Southeast leaders are in support of the endorsement.

Addressing concerns about the early endorsement of President Tinubu for a second term, Kalu dismissed suggestions that it stemmed from fear of opposition coalitions. He asserted that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) remains confident in its track record and is not intimidated by emerging opposition alliances.
