U.S. President Donald Trump has once again become the centre of online speculation after rumours of his death trended on X (formerly Twitter). The unusual surge in searches such as “Is Donald Trump dead?” has left many questioning his health, despite no official confirmation of any serious medical issue.
The speculation picked up speed after a video clip, allegedly from The Simpsons, resurfaced online. The widely circulated footage appeared to show a Trump-like character collapsing during a live broadcast, with narration claiming he would die in August 2025. The video quickly went viral, sparking fears that the animated sitcom had “predicted” his death.
Adding to the speculation was a recent comment by Vice President JD Vance, who told USA Today he was “ready to step in if there was a terrible tragedy.” Although Vance clarified that Trump remained in “incredibly good health,” the remark further fuelled online chatter.

Reports also confirmed that Trump has been diagnosed with Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI), a common but non-life-threatening circulatory condition in older adults. His physician stressed that Trump’s overall health remains excellent. Still, his fewer public appearances and photos showing bruises on his hand have only deepened speculation.
As for The Simpsons, fact-checks reveal no record of an episode predicting Trump’s death. Media outlets have dismissed the viral clip as a fan-made edit mixing old scenes with fake narration.
In fact, Trump appeared at his golf club in the morning hours of August 30, accompanied by his daughter, proving his health is stable and denying all rumors.
This is not the first time Trump has been the subject of false death claims. In 2023, his son’s X account was hacked, posting a hoax about his death. With past rumours and recent health disclosures, it seems Trump’s name will continue to draw speculation—true or not.
