The Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) has revealed that it has received a petition for the recall of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
The petition was received by INEC Secretary Rose Oriaran-Anthony on Monday, March 24, 2025.
According to reliable sources, people of Kogi Central, where Mrs. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan represented in Nigeria’s upper legislative house, commenced a recall process for the senator.
This is happening few weeks after Natasha’s six-month suspension by the Senate’s Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions for her gross misconduct.

Her suspension, which came with several deprivations of senatorial entitlements, was a blow to the people of her senatorial district, as they would be left unrepresented in the Senate for six months.
Mrs. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan had rebuked persuasions to apologize for her suspension to be lifted or reduced, but has gone on national and international media to claim she was sexually harassed by the Senate President, Senator God’swill Akpabio, and her suspension is a plot to silence her.
The people of Kogi Central seem to be unhappy with her attitude and have hence submitted a petition for her recall from the Senate. Although some critics believe the motion is being sponsored by some politicians.
There have also been speculations that there is a plot to replace Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan with the former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, in the Senate.
