Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, former governor of Abia State and current representative of Abia North in the Senate, has restated his deep loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring he is willing to lay down his life for the party.

Speaking to journalists at his country home in Igbere, Abia State, Kalu expressed firm belief in the APC’s strength in the region and its prospects ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“APC is strong in Abia. Like I said in my interview, I am ready to lay down my life for the party. I am a member of the party, and a strong one at that. I am APC to the core. That’s why APC is strong in Abia North,” he said.

“Our party will work hard to deliver the President in the state. We have done it in the past, and we will do it again in 2027.”

Kalu, a former Senate Chief Whip, said he and other party loyalists are committed to ensuring the re-election of President Bola Tinubu, citing the president’s achievements as proof of effective leadership.

He praised Tinubu’s economic reforms and expressed optimism that the nation’s economy, particularly the naira, would soon stabilize.

“The economy needs time to bounce back. The President is working to ensure that the economy bounces back,” Kalu said.

Reacting to criticism from within the APC regarding his recent visit to Abia Governor Alex Otti, Kalu clarified that the visit was personal and not political. He added that Otti is running the state using a development template he introduced while in office.

He further urged Nigerians to support President Tinubu so that he can continue and complete vital national projects, especially in the Southeast.

“Petroleum subsidy was a big scam. No President or governor wants their citizens to suffer. That is the reason the President is doing all he can to ensure that life becomes bearable for Nigerians. The President has done well in the last two years. I am urging Nigerians to come together to support the President.”
