Pa Reuben Fasoranti, leader of the Yoruba socio-political group Afenifere, has commended President Bola Tinubu for his efforts in governance, stating that the president has exceeded his expectations since assuming office.
Fasoranti made the remark on Thursday following a courtesy visit by the First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu, to his residence in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
According to a statement issued by the media aide to the First Lady, Busola Kukoyi, the 98-year-old elder statesman expressed satisfaction with the leadership of the President’s administration and offered prayers for the President’s continued success. “I am satisfied with what he is doing in Nigeria. Well done,” Fasoranti said, praising both the president and the first lady for their commitment to national development.
The First Lady, saying the meeting was informal, conveyed greetings from the President and described Pa Fasoranti as a father figure to both herself and President Tinubu.

The visit was part of her two-day official trip to Ondo State, where she launched several health and empowerment programs under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).
Earlier, Senator Tinubu met with over 60 traditional rulers in the state, led by the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi. The monarchs praised the president’s performance and the first lady’s advocacy for health and social progress. They also backed the Renewed Hope Initiative and expressed support for President Tinubu’s re-election.

At The Dome in Akure, the First Lady officially handed over 10,000 scrubs and 10,000 pairs of Crocs to midwives across the South-West geopolitical zone as part of RHI’s healthcare support program.
She also presented an N50 million grant to the wife of the Ondo State Governor, Mrs. Oluwaseun Aiyedatiwa, to be shared among 1,000 women petty traders through the RHI Small Business Recapitalization Program.
Additionally, 200 women received bales of fabric to support their businesses. In her keynote speech, Senator Tinubu praised the hard work of frontline health workers and encouraged them to keep learning and improving their skills.
She said the professional kits were meant to support the federal government’s plan to retrain 120,000 health workers—nearly 60,000 of whom have already completed the training.
Ondo State Governor Dr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa thanked the federal government for its support in the state, including the upgrade of Adeyemi College of Education to a University of Education and the establishment of an Air Force School in Akure.
