The Ogun State Police Command has dismissed claims by controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, that he is mentally unstable and undergoing psychiatric treatment.
Portable, who was declared wanted on February 17 for allegedly assaulting government officials, claimed in a video on February 18 that he is a “madman” receiving treatment at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta.
However, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, refuted his claims, stating that Portable remains a wanted man and must surrender for investigation.

“He cannot be in the psychiatric hospital in Aro. Everyone knows he is wanted. If he is in any facility, the police must be informed,” Odutola said.
The singer is accused of leading a violent attack on officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development during an enforcement operation in Ota.
Reports indicate that he, along with nine associates, allegedly assaulted the unarmed officials with weapons after his father initially denied his presence at Odogwu Bar.
While nine of his associates have been arrested and arraigned before a magistrate court in Abeokuta, Portable has remained in hiding, evading police capture.
