The Nigerian senator representing Abia South has claimed that Nigeria would have been better than what we are seeing today under the leadership of Peter Obi
Sen. Eyinnaya who is member of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) party, made this claim during a conversation with Channels Tv on major national issues.
According to the Senate minority leader, “if Peter Obi had won the 2023 Presidential elections, you probably would have seen a better Nigeria than what we are seeing today.”
One of his reasons, Eyinnaya states, is that the government of Bola Ahmed Tinubu is nepotistic, that Peter Obi’s government wouldn’t have allowed nepotism to thrive. That Peter Obi and the rest of the Igbo race feel for other people, but Tinubu feels his people alone.
The Senator argued that what he is saying is what he has seen happening, not what he merely thinks.
He used Ogun State to validate his claim, saying, “how can Ogun State have four ministers?”
When the anchor pointed out that Tinubu is not from Ogun State, Eyinnaya affirmed, noting that that is his point.
When asked him if this is the right time for the Igbos and the people of the South to sit down and rethink their politics, Eyinnaya said;
“… we have decided, and I am part of those who have said that, let us go back to the Southeast and revamp the Southeast and make it more livable, better, more cohesive and hold ourselves together.
“Because it’s obvious that if we continue to look at whoever come to be president and do right, apart from Obasanjo and maybe Goodluck Jonathan, I do not think that we have seen that same type of energy.”
Senator Eyinnaya believes that the nepotism that is thriving today started with Buhari, but since nobody said much then, it has deepened under Tinubu’s administration.
