“I have never been a marriage kind of guy right from time”, says 44-year-old Timaya as he gives reason he is not married, despite having three Baby mamas
Nigerian musician, song writer and producer, Inetimi Alfred Odon, popularly known as Timaya has shared reasons why he is still not married at 44.
The Bayelsa multiple award-winning artist, declared during an interview with Najia FM, that he has never considered marriage to be a part of his vision since from his younger days, however, things are susceptible to change in the future.
He confirmed being a father, but not a husband, revealing that he has four children from three baby mamas. Had his first two daughters, Emmanuella and Gracey, with Barbara Fumnaya Nwaokolo, his son Emmanuel with Tamar, and his youngest child, Maya, with Dunnie Onasanya.
The ‘Dem Mama’ crooner mentioned that all his children live with their respective mothers, but he sees them often, whenever he wants to, and spends quality time with them. The singer prefers it that way.

Stating why taking a life partner has never occurred to him, the afrobeats maker said he does not want disturbance, emphasizing his aversion for stress, and need for peace of mind, which has been the reason he left his previous relationships.
“I have never been a marriage kind of guy right from time, but it can change,” he said.
“If I marry today and the girl disturbs me, I can get out of the marriage. In all my previous relationships, I was the one who got out because I don’t like stress.
“If you have a problem with me, let’s talk about it because I don’t like going to bed thinking about things. I don’t like anything to bother me at all.”

Timaya said he is happy to be just a father, though it’s stressful when the father really loves his children, but it is good.
“Being a father is very good but stressful because you love them too much,” he said.
But he said he does not like stress, how come he is not bothered about this particular stress? It seems he prefers the stress of being a committed father to being a husband.
His children according to him, do spend two to three months with him, especially during holidays, during Christmas. He calls their mothers whenever he wants to see them, and goes to pick them.

“They all live with their mothers, but when I want to see them, I tell their mothers. So, I will go to pick them, and they all spend time with me.
“They spend two to three months with me, then go back to their mothers. During Christmas, they also stay with me.”
