Christians in the world have been drawn into a heated debated as a shocking news reveals that homosexuals can now attend seminaries and become priests.
The decision was agreed upon by a group of Italian Bishops in Rome, the Vatican city.
Though given that gay men can become priests and serve mass, they will have to remain celibate, and not engage in sexual relationships, which is a general rule for all, including heterosexuals.

“When referring to homosexual tendencies in the formation process, it is also appropriate not to reduce the discernment to this aspect alone, but … to understand its meaning within the whole framework of the young person’s personality,” the new guideline says.

It is to be recalled that the Catholic Church in 2016 had barred men with “deep-seated homosexual tendencies” from priesthood. But there seems to be an adjustment almost a decade later.
Pope Francis who became pontiff in 2013 over the years have been very mild towards homosexual members of the church and the LGBTQ agitators, even allowing the blessing of same-sex marriage on a case-by-case basis in the church, which spurred lots of reactions from Christians worldwide.
Today, gay men have been granted permission to become priests as long as they are celibate, according to the Catholic priesthood principles. Though it is not yet certain if this new guideline applies to all countries, or only Italy.
