Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s emergence as Nigeria’s leader in the 2023 general elections was divinely ordained.
Speaking during the All Progressives Congress (APC) South-East zonal stakeholders meeting held at the International Conference Centre in Abakaliki, Nwifuru stated that Tinubu’s presidency was a product of divine choice, not political calculation.
According to the governor, despite efforts by other candidates who campaigned along religious lines, God “ignored them” because He sees the heart of all men and chose Tinubu to lead the nation.
“God chose President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be president of Nigeria contrary to the wishes and expectations of the opposition. No amount of coalition can derail God’s purpose. He ignored others who contested on religious sentiments. God sees the heart, and that is why He brought Tinubu,” Nwifuru declared.

The governor, who hailed Tinubu’s bold leadership and economic reforms, emphasized that the president has the capacity to take decisive action and drive Nigeria’s progress.
He expressed confidence that Tinubu will emerge victorious in the 2027 elections, especially in the South-East, despite opposition coalitions.
He urged the people of the South-East to rally behind the President and remain supportive of his administration, which he said is implementing people-oriented policies.
He also called for objective opposition, noting that it should be constructive rather than driven by narrow interests.
“Our party, the APC, is strong in Ebonyi. We must remain tolerant of differing views and support the president to complete his tenure successfully,” he added.
Also speaking at the meeting, APC State Chairman Chief Stanley Emegha reaffirmed the party’s resolve to expand its influence and bring more opposition members into its fold.
