A fire outbreak as reported by The Punch occurred in Jos, the Capital of Plateau State on Wednesday December 11, around 4 p.m.
The fire reportedly affected several shops and offices, destroying everything therein, and leaving its owners in agony.
The incident occurred around Jos South and Jos North areas.
An eyewitness named John Michael who confirmed the incident to Punch, said he just came out of his office and saw the raze, not knowing what might have caused it, so he immediately called the Fire Service who responded appropriately.

“I came out of my office and saw fire everywhere. I don’t know the actual cause, but I immediately contacted the fire service. Thankfully, they mobilized their teams who are currently trying to extinguish the fire,” John said.
Confirming the incident, one of the fire service officials said they responded swiftly to the location immediately they received the call, and were able to prevent it from further escalating.

“Once we received the report, our team was dispatched to the location. We have managed to put out the fire to prevent it from spreading further,” the official said.
The Jos South Local Government Chairman Mr. Silas Dung who also visited the site of the incident, said according to The Punch; “I have just been informed about the fire, and I am currently at the scene to assess the situation.”
No lost of life or injuries have been reported, only destruction of property.
