'F9 In English and Mathematics' — Anambra APC Candidate Ukachukwu’s 1986 GCE Result Revealed

A secondary school examination result said to belong to Nicholas Ukachukwu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the upcoming Anambra governorship election, has stirred heated debate after surfacing online.

The document, reportedly his May/June 1986 General Certificate of Education (GCE) result from Dennis Memorial Grammar School, Onitsha, shows poor performance in key subjects.

According to the record shared by human rights lawyer Prof. Chidi Odinkalu, Ukachukwu, popularly called Ikukuoma, scored an F9 in English Language, failed Mathematics and Economics, and managed passes in Igbo, Bible Knowledge, Biology, and Commerce. His only credit was in Chemistry.

The development has drawn sharp criticism on social media, with many questioning his academic preparedness to lead a state as complex as Anambra. While Ukachukwu has yet to confirm or deny the authenticity of the document, the issue has reignited public concerns over transparency in Nigeria’s political vetting process.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had earlier released candidates’ academic qualifications for scrutiny in line with the Electoral Act, but no formal challenge has been raised against Ukachukwu’s credentials.
