Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Plateau State reportedly arrested a man who was reportedly found with a gun inside a church compound, Bokkos Local Government Area of the state.
The arrested suspect, name withheld, was arrested on Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. during routine patrol by NSCDC operatives within the church compound.

“The suspect was found in possession of a gun and could not provide any satisfactory explanation or legal documentation for it,” Makama stated.
“The swift action of our operatives helped prevent what could have escalated into a serious security breach.”

Makama said the prompt intervention of the NSCDC was critical in maintaining peace in an area already ruled to be under the risk of security violations, including attacks by armed bands and bandits.
More information on the suspect has been withheld by the authorities, stating that they need to complete preliminary investigations before they can disclose his identity and possible motives.
Bokkos, located in the central part of Plateau State, has in the last few years witnessed sporadic eruptions of violence and instability, particularly through inter-communal clashes and attacks on rural communities.
