The Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a 22-year-old man for allegedly attempting to rape two women he caught stealing pepper from a farm, THE PUNCH reports.
According to the command’s spokesperson, Kehinde Adeleke, the farm did not belong to the suspect. After confronting the women at Ita-Olokan, Osogbo, he allegedly threatened to report them to security agents unless they agreed to sleep with him.
While one of the women managed to escape, the suspect reportedly assaulted the other, pushing her to the ground and attempting to force himself on her.

Adeleke said the man confessed to the act, claiming that he only “laid on her” and quickly ejaculated because he feared the escaped woman might raise an alarm.
In another development, the NSCDC announced the arrest of two men accused of illegally encroaching on government land at Oke-Osun. The suspects allegedly destroyed boundary markers and excavated sand from the property. Investigations revealed that several truck drivers had also been illegally extracting sand from the site and selling it to unsuspecting buyers.
Osun NSCDC Commandant, Igbalawole Sotiyo, reaffirmed the corps’ commitment to tackling crime in the state and urged residents to report suspicious activities promptly.
