"Don't Vote for my father" — President Paul Biya's Daughter Warns Cameroonians

Brenda Biya, daughter of Cameroon’s long-serving president, Paul Biya, has publicly urged Cameroonians not to vote for her father in the October 2025 presidential election.

Speaking during a TikTok Live session, the 27-year-old, known online as “King N+asty,” accused the 92-year-old leader of plunging the country into poverty, unemployment, and decades of stagnation. She also alleged mistreatment within her family, saying some close to her “wanted her dead.”

Her remarks mark a historic first in African politics—the child of a sitting president openly rejecting their parent’s rule.

The video quickly went viral and has been embraced by opposition groups. The government has yet to issue an official response.

President Biya, in power since 1982, recently confirmed he will seek an eighth term, pledging to continue addressing Cameroon’s challenges. In his declaration, he said he could not “shirk [his] mission” and promised that “the best is yet to come.”
