The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, visited the Delta State College of Nursing Sciences on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, for the Renewed Hope Initiative Health Programme and distribution of 10,000 professional kits (Crocs and scrubs) to midwives.
However, during a “na our mama be this” song chant to the First Lady, the student nurses took it differently, responding rather with, “na your mama be this.”
One of the students recorded the moment and posted it on her TikTok handle; the video went viral, spurring reactions from netizens.

The school management, however, has shown displeasure with the video and sent a query letter to the student nurse identified as Osato Edobor for posting the unauthorized video on social media.
The student is requested in the letter to submit three copies of letter within 24 hours, giving reasons why a disciplinary action should not be taken against her.
According to the school management, the student’s act was malicious and is a punishable offense enshrined in the Student Handbook under standardized disciplinary action for some punishable offenses.

In a turn of event, 2023 presidential candidate of the People’s Redemption Party, Omoyele Sowore, has promised to back the lady both physically and legally to ensure the authorities at Delta State College of Nursing Sciences do not perpetrate their egregious act of injustice.
