Davido Praises Father for his Christian upbringing, says he taught him to not question God even after losing his son Ifeanyi, and now it all Makes sense.
Nigerian singer and afrobeat star, David Adeleke a.k.a Davido, has revealed that his father Mr Adedeji Adeleke, played a significant role in his belief system.
According to Davido, his upbringing as a Christian in the Seventh Day Adventist church, and the lessons from his father, who asides being a successful business man and politician, is an elder in the church, taught him to always rely on God and never give up on life’s challenges.
He was speaking during a podcast interview with Rollingout, when he revealed this.
The multiple awards winner remarked that he was able to overcome many challenges because of his father, even though he did not understand it then, now he has come to the realization.
He said sometimes he used to get angry and would ask why bad things happened to good people, his father discouraged him from such thoughts, advising him not to question God. Yet, he felt it didn’t still make sense.
Davido was referring to the death of his son, Ifeanyi, who died last year in a swimming pool. This tragedy left the singer and his wife Chioma devasted and in pains.
However, when a year later, he was blessed with a twin, and made the biggest album of his career, plus a Grammy nomination, he now sees everything clearly, and it all makes sense.
He then pointed out that people go through a lot of challenges, but they should always know that God has their back.
