The Dangote Group reportedly paid N402.3 billion in taxes to the Nigerian government in 2024, making the company the highest taxpayer in Nigeria, according to The Vanguard.

The amount was disclosed by the Group’s Chief Branding and Communication Officer, Anthony Chiejina, in Lagos State, during a meeting with some senior media executives.

Mr Chiejina noted that the tax payments were made by Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) and its subsidiaries, including Dangote Cement, NASCON, and Dangote Packaging Limited, as part of their commitment to responsible business practice.

He reiterated the Dangote Group’s commitment to fulfilling its tax obligations and contributing to national development and also mentioned the corporation’s role in making cement and petroleum products never lacking in Nigeria, while aiming to spread its reach across other African countries.

Vanguard also reports that in 2024, during the Lagos International Trade Fair, the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) had recognized Dangote Industries Limited and its subsidiary, Bluestar Shipping, as the most tax-compliant organizations in Nigeria.

Dangote Cement also received multiple recognitions at the FMDQ Gold Awards in Lagos, according to The Vanguard. They won awards for the Largest Commercial Paper Quotation, the Single Largest Corporate Debt Issue, and the Most Active Corporate in the Foreign Exchange Market.
