Dangote Group Denies Ownership of Truck Involved in Enugu Accident that Killed Entire Family

Dangote Industries Limited has denied ownership of the truck involved in a fatal accident at Four Corner Junction, Enugu State, on Wednesday.

The crash, which occurred around 9 a.m., involved a Howo truck loaded with cement and a Toyota Corolla. The truck bore the inscription of Visco Investment Global Limited, but many reports had linked it to Dangote Group because of its branding.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the company clarified that the truck was not part of its fleet and described the link as misinformation. It said investigations were underway to determine why the vehicle carried its logo.

“Going forward, we will apply more scrutiny to the unauthorized use of our brand identity, especially the misuse of our logo on vehicles not linked to the Group,” the management stated.

Dangote Group also urged the public and media to avoid spreading unverified claims, stressing that it would cooperate fully with authorities handling the matter.

The company added that while it usually refrains from commenting on individual cases, the repeated circulation of false claims associating it with accidents made it necessary to respond.

The denial comes amid growing public concern over heavy-duty trucks branded with Dangote’s identity, which have been linked to multiple accidents across the country.
