Human rights activist and Sahara Reporters publisher, Omoyele Sowore, has announced plans to lead a peaceful march to Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, to demand the release of the detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
Sowore made the declaration on Tuesday via his verified X (formerly Twitter) account, urging political leaders, traditional rulers, and citizens to move beyond rhetoric and take peaceful action.
“I will set aside my differences with some politicians for one cause. I challenge every person of conscience, especially from the Southeast, to stop talking and start acting. Time for action is NOW,” he wrote.

He called on Southeast governors, lawmakers, priests, and traditional rulers to join the demonstration, stressing that it would be peaceful and lawful.
“Let’s march to Aso Rock Villa. Every Igbo leader, every Nigerian who believes in justice, come out and do more than talk. I will lead this peaceful march,” Sowore declared.
The Take It Back Movement leader also challenged prominent Southeast figures (including Governor Charles Soludo, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Governor Alex Otti, and Peter Obi) to participate physically.
“No more empty noise. Let Soludo, Abaribe, Otti, and Obi join in person,” he said, emphasizing that the march would demand fairness and an end to what he described as Kanu’s continued persecution.
