The Nigeria Police Force has launched an investigation into popular Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, widely known as KWAM 1, following a petition from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
The petition alleges that KWAM 1 engaged in unruly behavior that obstructed the safe operation of an aircraft at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on August 5, 2025. According to the NCAA, his actions violated the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations, 2023.
In response, the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has ordered the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Airport Command to conduct a detailed investigation. The probe aims to establish the facts surrounding the incident and ensure that justice is served in line with the law.

Police spokesperson DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi assured the public that the Force remains committed to maintaining safety and security within Nigeria’s aviation sector. He also emphasized the importance of collaboration with aviation stakeholders to enforce strict compliance with aviation regulations.
The outcome of the investigation is expected to determine whether further legal or regulatory actions will be taken against the musician.

AIRPORT INCIDENT: NPF RECEIVES PETITION FROM NCAA ON UNRULY BEHAVIOUR, OBSTRUCTION OF SAFE OPERATIONS OF AIRCRAFT
As IGP Directs Airport Police Command to Investigate
The Nigeria Police Force has received an official petition from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) over an alleged incident involving Mr. Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (popularly known as KWAM 1). He is accused of engaging in unruly conduct that allegedly obstructed the safe operation of an aircraft, in violation of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations, 2023 following a reported incident on 5 August 2025 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
In response, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has directed the Commissioner of Police, Airport Command, to immediately commence a thorough investigation into the matter, to unravel the circumstances which led to the ugly incident and ensure justice is served accordingly.
The Force hereby assures the public of its commitment to upholding safety and security within Nigeria’s aviation sector, while assuring stakeholders in the sector of improved collaboration towards aviation security and strict compliance with aviation laws.

This is coming a day after the recent Ibom Air incident, which has been termed KWAM 2. Lots of Nigerians have spoken against the quick judgment meted out to the Ibom Air passenger, while that of KWAM 1, which was a more serious incident, was resolved amicably due to political influence, with KWAM 1 apologizing later.
