According to a report by Sahara Reporters, a Nigerian pastor known as Pastor Korede Komaiya called the police on a fellow clergyman, Apostle Festus Alilu, in Delta State over the latter’s criticism of his preaching as wrong and manipulative.
Apostle Alilu, who is the founder of Word of Power Gospel Church International in Ughelli, Delta State, shared a sermon video of him condemning Pastor Korede Komaiya, founder of The Master’s Place International Church, for his prosperity kind of gospel.
Apostle Alilu accused Komaiya of preaching the wrong gospel and lying in order to extort his members.
He said his preaching, which centers often on his members giving and paying tithes consistently in order to be blessed materially, is manipulative and exploitative.

Alilu urged Komaiya to refrain from making Christianity a laughing stock, saying that it is because of false teachings like his that gives people like Omoyele Sowore the impudence to insult and make mockery of Christianity and men of God.
Pastor Komaiya, who is a more wealthy pastor than Alilu, did not take the accusations likely, as he involved the Nigerian police immediately.
Apostle Alilu was thereby arrested by men of the Nigerian police on the request of Pastor Komaiya on Friday, March 21, 2025.
The news has sparked reactions from lots of netizens, with many accusing Pastor Komaiya of using his affluence to oppress another clergyman.
Other people condemned Apostle Alilu for insulting his fellow in public instead of discussing it with him privately.
