The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has received 180 stranded Nigerians repatriated from Libya through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
The returnees arrived at the Cargo Terminal around 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, aboard an Air Libya flight with registration number 5A-BAE.
In a statement released on Wednesday, NEMA confirmed that the return was carried out in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), and Port Health Services.

According to the agency, the group comprised 147 adults (45 males and 102 females), 19 children (6 males and 13 females), and 14 infants (7 males and 7 females).
NEMA disclosed that 46 of the returnees had medical conditions and were promptly attended to by health officials upon arrival. Officers from the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) also conducted biometric registration to aid proper documentation and reintegration.
The returnees were provided with food, water, medical care, counselling services, and logistics support as part of the Federal Government’s commitment to ensuring a safe and dignified return for citizens stranded abroad.
NEMA described the exercise as “seamless and well-coordinated,” emphasizing the government’s ongoing efforts to safeguard the welfare and dignity of Nigerians caught in crisis situations overseas.
