BREAKING: Man Allegedly Murders Girlfriend for Ritual in Lagos Hotel, Arrested by the Police

A tragic incident occurred in the Ayobo area of Lagos State on Thursday, July 18, as a man identified as Amos Daniel was arrested for allegedly killing his girlfriend in a hotel room under circumstances now being investigated as a ritual killing.

According to eyewitnesses, Daniel had checked into the hotel earlier that day with two male friends. Later in the evening, the young woman, identified simply as Endurance and reportedly from Akwa Ibom State, joined them in the room.

The silence of the night was shattered around 10 p.m. when disturbing noises erupted from the room. Alarmed by the violent noises, the hotel management, fearing the worst, used a spare key to unlock the door, only to find Endurance lying lifeless in a pool of blood, her body bearing multiple stab wounds.

While the hotel guests and staff managed to apprehend Daniel as he attempted to flee the scene, his two alleged accomplices escaped. The police were immediately called in.

Confirming the incident, Lagos Police PRO SP Benjamin Hundeyin revealed that Daniel had confessed to conspiring with the fleeing suspects to murder the young woman for ritual purposes.

During a follow-up search, the police recovered a dagger he dropped while fleeing. A raid on his home uncovered a disturbing cache: an axe, a cutlass, three machetes, a knife, two scissors, five types of pliers, two screwdrivers, a jackknife, a laptop, a POS machine, SIM cards, flash drives, a pair of jungle boots, and other personal items.

The victim’s body has been deposited at the Mainland General Hospital mortuary in Yaba for autopsy, while Daniel and the recovered exhibits have been handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, for further investigation.

The manhunt for the two fleeing suspects is ongoing.
