BREAKING: Kidnappers Shoot Victim in Delta After His Bank Account Showed 'Insufficient Fund'

The Delta State Police Command has arrested three suspected kidnappers who shot their victim because his bank account showed “insufficient fund,” despite already collecting a ₦2 million ransom.

Police spokesperson, Bright Edafe, confirmed the suspects as 25-year-old Chukwuebuka Nka, Uche Okechukwu, and Somto Chukwuma. He said the victim was abducted from his home in Ogwashi-Uku and later found in a bush with a gunshot wound to the leg.

According to Edafe, the kidnappers turned violent after discovering their victim had “insufficient funds” in his bank account. Following a distress call, operatives tracked and rescued the man before arresting Nka and Okechukwu in Anambra State. The victim’s white Toyota Venza was also recovered.

Further investigation led officers to Agidiase village in Ogwashi-Uku, where the third suspect, Chukwuma, was arrested. From their hideout, police recovered the gang’s operational vehicle and a network jammer used to disrupt communications during operations.

Edafe assured that the suspects remain in custody and will face prosecution as investigations continue.
