The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Professor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) as the winner of the November 8, 2025, Anambra State governorship election.
The announcement was made on Sunday at INEC’s headquarters in Awka, the state capital, following the conclusion of result collation from all 21 local government areas.

According to the official results, Soludo secured 422,664 votes to defeat his closest rival, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who garnered 99,445 votes. Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) came third with 37,753 votes, while the Labour Party’s George Moghalu scored 10,576 votes. John Nwosu of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) finished with 8,208 votes.
INEC disclosed that 99.4 percent of polling unit results were successfully uploaded to its Result Viewing Portal (IReV) before the final declaration, reflecting a smooth and transparent process.
The election was generally peaceful, with voter turnout described as impressive across the state. Observers also commended the commission for its improved logistics and the efficiency of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS).
Moments after the declaration, celebrations broke out in Awka and other major towns as APGA supporters took to the streets to rejoice over Soludo’s re-election.
INEC has since reiterated its commitment to credible polls, urging all candidates to respect the democratic choice of Anambra citizens.
