BREAKING: Fresh Boko Haram Attacks in Borno; Four Farmers Killed While Harvesting Crops, Church Burned, and Several Women Abducted — Sen. Ndume Expresses Concern

Senator Ali Ndume has expressed deep concern over a new wave of Boko Haram attacks in parts of Borno South, describing the situation as alarming and unacceptable.

The lawmaker confirmed that four farmers were murdered while harvesting crops in Kwam village, near Dille in Askira Uba Local Government Area. He added that the terrorists also invaded Pemi community in Chibok LGA, where they burnt down an EYN Church, shops, and several vehicles.

Ndume further disclosed that Shikarkir community in Chibok came under attack on Wednesday, November 12. During the raid, seven people—including a woman and her children, two daughters of a pastor, and the wife of Mr. Smith Shikarkir with her baby—were abducted.

“I am very much perturbed over the renewed attacks by Boko Haram terrorists in some parts of my constituency,” Ndume said. “The inability of security agencies to adequately secure these remote communities has emboldened the insurgents.”

The senator praised Governor Babagana Zulum for directing the State Emergency Management Agency to deliver relief materials to the affected communities.

He also urged the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, and the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, to deploy more troops to protect residents and prevent further attacks.

Ndume extended his condolences to the victims and appealed for urgent military intervention to safeguard communities facing repeated Boko Haram assaults.
