BREAKING: FG Releases Names of 15 Alleged Terrorism Sponsors in Nigeria

In a major push against terrorism financing, the Federal Government has published a new list of 15 people and business outfits suspected of supporting terrorist groups. The move, officials say, follows months of intelligence work involving several security agencies monitoring cash trails, supply routes and suspicious cross-border dealings.

The list contains nine individuals, including:

  • Tukur Mamu
  • Yusuf Ghazali
  • Muhammad Sani
  • Abubakar Muhammad
  • Sallamudeen Hassan
  • Adamu Ishak
  • Hassana-Oyiza Isah
  • Abdulkareem Musa and
  • Umar Abdullahi.

Alongside them are six companies (mostly Bureau De Change operators and trading firms), such as:

  • West & East Africa General Trading Company Ltd
  • Settings BDC
  • G. Side General Enterprises
  • Desert Exchange Ventures Ltd
  • Eagle Square General Trading Co. and
  • Alfa Exchange BDC.

Security sources explained that investigators spent months studying strange account movements and communication patterns, with help from international partners. The aim, one official said, is simply to “choke off the oxygen” that keeps terror cells alive.

The government says this release is only the first phase of a wider crackdown. More names are still being reviewed, and agencies have been directed to freeze accounts, restrict activities linked to the suspects, and follow any new transactions connected to them.

Authorities have also tightened scrutiny on Bureau De Change operations across the country, after reports suggested that unregulated currency exchanges have become an easy channel for illegal funding.

According to officials, the latest action forms part of a larger effort to block financial pipelines and strengthen ongoing counter-terrorism operations nationwide.
