Armed bandits in large numbers attacked Nasara Nursing and Maternity Home in Kujama town, the headquarters of Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, in the early hours of Tuesday, abducting a medical doctor, five patients, and a security guard.
According to local sources, the assailants stormed the hospital and surrounding houses, shooting sporadically before whisking away their victims into the nearby forest. One of the security personnel who tried to resist the attackers was shot multiple times and is currently receiving treatment at another hospital.

The attack marks yet another violent incident in a series of bandit operations plaguing Southern Kaduna. Just last Friday, two police officers were killed during an assault on the Divisional Police Headquarters in Zonkwa town, headquarters of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area.
Similarly, last Thursday, nine people (including three minors) were murdered by bandits in Layin Danauta village, Birnin Gwari Local Government Area. The children were reported to be daughters of a local resident, Alhaji Salisu Maiwada, while five married men and a bachelor were also killed. Several others were injured and are being treated in nearby hospitals.
Residents have called on the Kaduna State Government and security agencies to intensify efforts to protect communities and end the unrelenting wave of attacks across the state.
