BREAKING: Bandits Flee, Leave Their Victims Behind, As Troops Launch Air and Ground Offensive In Kogi Forest

Six kidnapped persons have been freed after soldiers of the 12 Brigade stormed bandits’ hideouts inside the Ejiba and Saminaka forests in Yagba East, Kogi State. The operation, which combined ground troops with an aerial push from a police helicopter, forced the attackers to flee and leave their victims behind.

Brigade spokesperson Lt Hassan Abdullahi said the rescue was part of a renewed offensive aimed at clearing out bandit groups troubling the area. According to him, sustained pressure from both air and land made the criminals panic and abandon the hostages.

The rescued individuals were quickly given medical checks. Five have already reunited with their families in Egbe and Ejiba, while one victim is still receiving treatment.

The army assured residents that more aggressive patrols and raids will continue across the forests to block hideouts and cut off criminal activities. Troops, Abdullahi added, are determined to dominate the terrain and keep communities safe.

The rescue happened just two days after bandits stormed a Cherubim and Seraphim church in Ejiba during Sunday service, kidnapping the pastor and some worshippers.
