An 18-year-old boy in Anambra State is causing serious concern after allegedly getting ten girls pregnant in just five months. Among them were his master’s daughter and a salesgirl at his former workplace.
He was sent to learn a trade (apprenticeship) but was sent home after his actions came to light. After returning to his village, things reportedly got worse—eight more girls became pregnant.
The Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare in Anambra, Ify Obinabo, shared the disturbing news during a live video on Wednesday. According to her, the boy’s mother had asked for help, saying she was alarmed by the number of girls showing up at their home.

“She said, ‘Anytime I see a girl coming towards our house nowadays, my heart would jump. Please, I need help,’” Obinabo said.
The teenager reportedly told the commissioner that he convinced the girls by promising them love and marriage once he becomes rich.
Obinabo admitted that the matter is beyond what her office can handle alone and asked Nigerians to suggest how to deal with the issue. She also wondered if the boy’s behavior could be linked to spiritual or mental health problems.

The case has sparked public debate online. Many are suggesting the boy needs medical and psychological evaluation, counseling, and guidance. Though no legal action has been taken yet, the Ministry says it is closely monitoring the situation.
