Atiku and Peter Obi have Breakfast together in Atiku’s house in Adamawa State
The internet has been put in a bit chaos after seeing a post made by Nigeria’s former Vice President and PDP Presidential candidate during the 2023 general elections in Nigeria.
It was about 11 a.m on Saturday when Atiku Abubakar posted a video on his twitter (X) handle with the caption;
“It is breakfast time with my friend, @PeterObi, in the “land of beauty.” -AA
The video showed Peter Obi and some other politicians in Atiku’s house. He (Atiku) welcomed them and led them to the dining table where breakfast has been arranged.
Both Peter Obi and Atiku were all smiles.
Recall that both men had always been allies, and were running mates for the 2019 presidential elections where Peter Obi ran as vice president for Atiku under the PDP.
However, things changed during the 2023 general elections when Peter Obi against Atiku’s plans, sought the presidential ticket alongside his former partner.
On Atiku’s victory to bear the PDP party flag for the office of the President at the Primaries, Peter Obi who had already canvassed a lot of supporters after earlier declaring his intentions, went ahead to join the Labour Party (LP) where he was given the flag unchallenged, being the only promising candidate for the office.
Both of them lost to Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Yet they have both been speaking against the policies and situations in the Tinubu led-administration.
The coming together of these former allies speaks of something, something very crucial. That is why the internet has been on its hills throughout Saturday.
A possible agreement to run as mates again in the upcoming 2027 elections? Will Peter Obi agree to denigrate and take the office of the vice president which is rather seen as just a ceremonial position?
These and many have been what netizens and the Nigerian populace have been pondering upon.
