The All Progressives Congress (APC), through its Zonal Organizing Secretary for South-South Blessing Agbomhere, has issued a seven-day ultimatum to popular human rights advocate and media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, a.k.a. VeryDarkMan (VDM).
The ultimatum demands an apology from VDM for his statement against the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, during his condolence visit to the late head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis, at the Vatican City in Rome, Italy.
VDM had made a video accusing Akpabio of taking an eight-hour flight to Rome for a condolence visit to Pope Francis while never visiting any of the insurgency-plagued regions in his country, Nigeria.

The influencer stated that Akpabio has never visited Plateau, Benue, Kwara, Ogun, and Enugu States, where Nigerians have been killed in cold blood by insurgents, but he is traveling off to Italy to go pay condolences to the Pope he doesn’t even know, or that has nothing to do with Nigeria.
Blessing Agbomhere condemned VDM for making such a call while also explaining that Akpabio’s visit to Rome was not a personal trip but an official one, as appointed by the President himself, Bola Tinubu.
According to Agbomhere, “VeryDarkMan is increasingly resorting to slander and character attacks while posing as a champion of the people. Attacking the third-highest-ranking official in the country, who was selected by the President for a national duty, is unwarranted.
“What wrong has Akpabio done by fulfilling his responsibility as a representative of Nigeria?” she asked.
“After his trip abroad, President Tinubu met with security officials to implement a new approach to tackling insecurity. This shows that he is committed to safeguarding the lives and property of Nigerians,” Agbomhere said.
The delegation sent by the President to go to Rome comprised five members, according to SaharaReporters: Senate President God’swill Akpabio and his envoy, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu; President of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, Archbishop Lucius Iwejuru Ugorji; Archbishop of Sokoto Diocese, Matthew Hassan Kukah; and Archbishop of Abuja Diocese, Ignatius Ayua Kaigama.
