The estate which is located at Plot 109, Cadastral Zone C09, Lokogoma District, Abuja, contains 753 duplexes and is said to be linked with former CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele who is currently facing corruption charges at the Federal High Court Abuja.

The Federal High Court had given the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) the approval to forfeit every property linked to the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Through Justice Jude Onwuegbuzie of the Federal High Court in Abuja, the EFCC were also given order to forfeit the 753 duplexes in the above mentioned location.

This announcement was made by the EFCC on Monday December 2, saying the ruling to forfeit the estate which according to the anti-graft Agency measures about 150,500 square metres and contains 753 Units of duplexes and other apartments, was given by Justice Jude Onwuegbuzie.

It did not state whom the property belonged to, but according to Joe Igbokwe who is an APC stakeholder, the building belongs to Mr. Godwin Emefiele, former governor of the CBN.

Joe Igbokwe said this on Facebook while reacting to the report by EFCC.

“I hear with one ear that the 753 duplexes forfeited by an FCT Court in Apo belong to former CBN Gov Godwin Emefiele. This one choked me to the marrow. Many Nigerians no dey fear God again oooo. Godwin Emefiele is one of them,” the APC party man wrote.

Mr. Godwin Emefiele was arrested in 2023 and charged to court for possessing a gun and cartridges, however, was granted bail. He was hijacked immediately stepping out of court by the Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria’s version of secret services.

Since then, he has been answering to several charges related with corruption and money laundering. Many property linked to him has been forfeited by the EFCC after several unusual funds have been discovered under his possession.
