The ongoing case between Human rights lawyer, Dele Farotimi and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Afe Babalola continues to raise its flames. The plaintiff accusing the other for defamation, and the defendant denying the allegations.
After the arrest, and later securing of N50 million bail term from the High Court in Ado-Ekiti, Dele Farotimi has been dealt another blow by his antagonist.
The book written by Dele Farotimi and titled “Nigeria and its Criminal Justice System” which has been the cause for all the current troubles have been banned by the Federal High Court in Abuja from all commercial platforms, both hard copy and soft copy.
Afe Babalola accused Dele Farotimi of defamation in his book, and took actions by involving the Nigerian Police to arrest and detain Dele Farotimi, before charging him to court in Ekiti State.

Among the platforms banned from selling the book is Amazon which recently ranked the book a Best Seller in its Politics category. Many had quickly ordered and purchased copies of the book after the issue exploded.
That being achieved, Afe Babalola went ahead to appeal that he be granted all royalties from the book, of which the court sanctioned swiftly, granting what it termed an interlocutory injunction.
The injunction according to SaharaReporters reads;
“An order of interlocutory injunction restraining the defendant/respondent, whether acting by himself, his staff, employees, servants, privies, representatives, agents, publishers, distributors, sellers, re-publishers, re-sellers, or any other person however described including Amazon Online Bookstore, Rovingheights Bookstore, Booksellers Bookstore, Jazzhole Lagos Bookstore, Glendora Bookshop, Quintessence Lagos Bookstore and Patabah Books Limited from further publishing, selling, circulating, advertising, or distributing the physical/hard/digital/soft copies of the book authored by the defendant/respondent titled: ‘Nigeria and Its Criminal Justice System’, online.
“An order of interlocutory injunction directing the seizure of all physical copies of the book authored by the defendant/respondent titled, ‘Nigeria and Its Criminal Justice System’n wherever they may be.”
In one of his videos, Dele Farotimi mentioned that he did not write the book to make profit, that proceeds from sales of the book had been donated to children suffering from Autistic disorder.
As the event unfolds, many Nigerians have debated and condemned the actions of Afe Babalola, quoting his actions as a replica of what Farotimi described in his book.
Some others who model after Afe Babalola have defended his actions, saying he took the right actions against the Human rights lawyer.
