Al-Nassr’s dream of lifting the King’s Cup came was drenched after a disappointing 1-0 loss to Al-Taawoun on Tuesday night to the surprise of many. Despite dominating possession, Al-Nassr struggled to break through what seemed like a very patient and well-organized defense, and their frustrations peaked when Cristiano Ronaldo missed a last-minute penalty.
Waleed Al-Ahmed stepped up in the 71st minute to nod in a header from a corner. From that point on, Al-Taawoun held on solid, nullifying all attempts from the home side despite the growing pressure for the most of the game.
However, the decisive moment of the game came when Cristiano Ronaldo had the opportunity to be the hero for Al-Nassr with a golden opportunity to bring the score level with a decisive penalty kick at the much latter stages of the added time but flopped it, unfortunately.

Ronaldo’s attempt swayed way over the horizon of the goalpost, and not only did he squander this opportunity, but somehow managed to strike the ball at a young fan seated behind.
