JUST IN: Tinubu Departs Abuja for 10-Day Annual Leave in UK & France

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has left Abuja to begin his 2025 annual leave, the Presidency confirmed on Thursday.

According to a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President will be on a 10-working-day vacation.

During the period, Tinubu is expected to spend time in France and the United Kingdom before returning to Nigeria.

The leave, described as a “working vacation,” is part of the President’s official annual schedule.

The information has sparked reactions among Nigerians and critics, who have begun lambasting the president for vacating to a foreign land while the country is plunged in economic hardship and insecurity.

One critic wrote, “Tinubu jets off to Europe for 10 days while Nigerians battle hunger, killings, and a collapsing naira. Leadership isn’t tourism. If he truly believes in Renewed Hope, let him vacation in Sokoto or Enugu, not Paris and London.”

Another X user wrote, “Tinubu has lived outside of Nigeria more than he has stayed back in the country he’s ruling as President. People are being killed by terrorists and bandits in their numbers almost everyday, while President is mindlessly vacationing around the world with public resources. He doesn’t care about nobody, he only cares about rigging himself back to power in the next election.”
