The family of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Miss Daniela Onyinyechi Ekuma, has accused the Department of State Services (DSS) of abducting their daughter and moving her to an undisclosed location.
According to her parents, Daniela, who is currently serving in Ekiti State, had travelled to Afikpo North, Ebonyi State, for her grandmother’s burial on August 21, 2025.
They alleged that at about 4am the same day, DSS operatives stormed the area, arrested her, and took her to their Abakaliki office. The family claims she was later transferred to an unknown location without explanation.

Speaking to SaharaReporters, the distraught parents said all attempts to trace her whereabouts have been unsuccessful, as the DSS has refused to provide any information.
“My daughter, Miss DANIELA ONYINYECHI EKUMA came from her NYSC camp in Ekiti for her grandmother’s burial but was arrested in Afikpo North by the DSS around 4am. She was first taken to their Abakaliki office and later moved again, but we don’t know where,” her parents lamented.
They expressed fears over her safety and appealed for urgent intervention to secure her release, stressing that she is expected to resume her place of primary assignment in September.
The DSS has not issued any public statement on the matter at the time of this report.
