The identity of the Dangote Group’s truck driver that crushed reality TV star Phyna’s sister’s legs has been revealed. He confessed to having no driver’s license.
Igbo TV reported on Thursday that Reality TV star and winner of the 2022 Big Brother Naija (BBN), Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, cried out for help after her younger sister, Otabor Ruth, lost a leg in a horrific accident involving a Dangote truck.
The heartbreaking incident happened near Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State, just days after Ruth graduated from the institution. According to Phyna, Ruth was on a motorcycle when a Dangote truck rammed into her. One of her legs has been amputated, and doctors have warned that the second leg may also need to be removed.

In a distressed voice note sent to activist VeryDarkMan (VDM), Phyna said she had spent heavily on medical bills and begged for intervention. “VeryDarkMan o, Dangote don kee my sister o. Dangote trailer jam my sister wey just graduate days ago. Dem don cut one of her leg comot and they say dey go cut the second one. I don send money tire,” she lamented.
In a call later today, Phyna told VDM the driver was caught and taken to court; in the court, the driver pleaded guilty to all the charges against him. He was asked to present his driver’s license; he said he had none, not even a temporary one. He remains in police custody.
Phyna made a video narrating what her sister is going through, that her second leg would be amputated also. She said, “My sister’s stomach was opened this morning because she can’t poo on her own. Her second leg is about to be amputated. My sister is about to lose her two legs. This morning we found out that driver driving the Dangote truck doesn’t even have a driver’s license”
