BREAKING: Woman Allegedly Stabs Her Two Children to Death in Enugu

A tragic incident occurred in Enugu State as a mother of three, identified as Mrs. Chidima Arinze, allegedly stabbed two of her children to death in a shocking act and reportedly blamed it on family frustration, reports SaharaReporters.

The incident occurred on Monday, July 21, at their residence located at No. 47 Unity Road, near the Abakpa Timber Shade Market in Enugu East Local Government Area.

According to residents, the disturbing act happened shortly after her husband had left for work. A neighbor, who spoke under anonymity, revealed that Chidima was at home with her three children when she suddenly picked up a knife and fatally stabbed her four-month-old son, Chibusoma, before turning the weapon on her second child, a four-year-old girl named Esther.

The eldest daughter, upon witnessing the attack, fled and raised the alarm. Before neighbors could intervene, Chidima had already informed her sister about the killings. It was the sister who alerted the police.

“She didn’t try to run,” the neighbor said. “She waited for the authorities. The children were found in a pool of blood.”

Sources said the woman had been complaining about being left to carry the burden of the home alone, often accusing her husband of abandoning the family for long periods.

Officers from the Trans-Ekulu Police Division arrived at the scene following a distress call. The children’s bodies were taken to Enugu State University Teaching Hospital (ESUT) in Parklane, where they were confirmed dead.

The Enugu State Police Command has yet to release an official statement, but police sources confirmed that the suspect was arrested without resistance and remains in custody. The case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
