Alleged WAEC Results of Governor Okpebholo of Edo State

Recently, the governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, has been trending following his contemptuous statement against the former governor of Anambra State and 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Governor Okpebholo, during a public function, openly warned Peter Obi about visiting Edo State. Reports have it that Peter Obi had visited a Nursing school in Edo and donated N15 million to the school. The gesture had attracted applause from Nigerians; however, opposition political actors see it as a threat.

Okpebholo alleged that Peter Obi’s presence in Edo caused the death of three persons due to a stampede, saying next time Obi wants to visit, he must take permission from him. Several people, including human rights lawyers, have labeled such statements as wrong and unconstitutional.

According to Okpebholo, Peter Obi’s visit anywhere is often marked by chaos and controversy; hence, his presence demands adequate security output.

The manner in which the Edo State governor delivered his message has been a topic of discussion across Nigeria, with many accusing him of illiteracy and informality even as a governor. Videos of his former struggles while presenting an appropriation bill to the Edo State House of Assembly reemerged.

There has also been in circulation a West African Examination Council certificate of Governor Okpebholo, dated 2008, when he sat for one. The grades in the result seem to prove the governor’s inability to express himself well in English and numbers; he had only one credit.
