A Facebook user, Sadiq Abdulhameed, popularly known as Ododo D’Flower Boiz Vanguard, has spent five months in detention at the Koton Karfe Federal Medium Security Custodial Centre in Kogi State for allegedly criticising the state’s Accountant General, Dr. Habibat Oyiza Tijjani.
Sadiq was arrested in February 2025, following a strongly-worded Facebook post dated February 13, where he accused Dr. Tijjani of arrogance, disrespect for local government chairmen, and overstepping her role in the state cabinet.
He alleged that she behaved like a “big masquerade,” treating democratically elected officials with disdain, despite being an appointee herself.
He also claimed that 95% of Kogi citizens were unhappy with her leadership style, warning that her actions were tarnishing the image of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration.

Sadiq urged her to reflect on the temporary nature of political power and advised her to exert humility in public office.
Despite public outcry, numerous appeals from family and friends, and rising tension online, Sadiq remains in custody with no trial date announced. His supporters have called the detention oppressive and unlawful.
One supporter, Gadafi Idreez, wrote: “Free Ododo D’Flower Boiz Vanguard. Protest is about to hit the streets of Okene.” Others have demanded due legal process, arguing that if Sadiq violated any law, he should be tried in court—not silenced.
Social media has been flooded with the hashtag #FreeOdodoBoy, as youth groups in Kogi call for physical and online protests. Critics of the Accountant General accuse her of using her office to suppress dissent.
As of now, the Kogi State government has not publicly addressed the matter.
