An Air Peace flight from Lagos to Port Harcourt veered slightly off the runway after landing safely at the Port Harcourt International Airport on Saturday morning.
The airline confirmed the incident in a statement, identifying the affected flight as P47190. According to Air Peace, the aircraft experienced what is known as a “runway excursion” during landing but remained intact with no damage reported.
“All passengers disembarked safely and without panic. There were no injuries recorded,” said Air Peace spokesperson Osifo-Whiskey Efe.
The airline emphasized that it operates under strict safety standards and reassured the public that the safety of passengers and crew remains its top priority.

This is not the first time the airline has experienced a runway-related issue. On May 11, another Air Peace flight collided with a large antelope while taxiing at the Asaba International Airport, causing temporary disruption.
Reacting to that earlier incident, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) acknowledged the challenges posed by wildlife hazards but called on airlines to maintain high safety standards and properly manage passenger concerns during such situations.
Saturday’s incident in Port Harcourt did not result in any delays or further disruptions, and operations at the airport have continued normally. Air Peace says it is cooperating with aviation authorities to ensure a full review of the event.
The airline expressed gratitude to passengers for their calm response and continued trust in its services.
