Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has extended a generous hand to young people in his hometown by donating 50 tricycles, commonly known as “Keke,” in a bid to support youth empowerment and tackle unemployment.
The donation ceremony took place in Rivers State, where Nwabali was born and raised. The 27-year-old shot-stopper, who gained national acclaim for his outstanding performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), said the gesture was a reflection of his deep connection to the community and a desire to give back meaningfully.
“I came from this community, and I know what it means to struggle,” Nwabali said. “This is my little way of giving hope and creating opportunities for our youth. These Keke may look small, but they can truly change lives.”

The tricycles were handed over to carefully selected unemployed youth who now have a new means of generating daily income. Nwabali emphasized that beyond his football career, he wanted to be remembered for impacting lives off the pitch.
“I didn’t want to just play football and leave,” he said. “I want my career to inspire and uplift others.”
The donation drew widespread praise from community leaders and residents, who hailed Nwabali as a true role model. One local elder said, “Stanley is not just a football star; he is a symbol of hope for the younger generation.”
The event ended on a joyful note as beneficiaries expressed their gratitude, calling the donation a “life-changing gift.”
