Veteran Nollywood actor Fatai Adetayo, popularly known as Lalude, has accused the campaign teams of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of neglecting him and his fellow Yoruba actors after the 2023 general elections.
Speaking during an interview on Behind the Fame, Lalude revealed that he and a group of colleagues were engaged to campaign for the All Progressives Congress (APC) over a period of one month and three weeks. According to him, they were promised adequate compensation but received nothing after the elections.
He said the actors were only given ₦10,000 daily for feeding—a figure he described as meagre compared to what must have been budgeted. In an effort to support each other, the actors decided to pool the money and rotate its use. However, once the organisers discovered this, they allegedly stopped the payments for several days.

“We campaigned for Tinubu and Governor Sanwo-Olu, but we were abandoned,” Lalude lamented. “After everything, we didn’t get even a single kobo. Is that fair?”
He stated that the arrangement was coordinated through the Chairman of the Lagos State Parks Management Committee, Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo), who initially promised payment and even sent a contact person who never followed through.
“We were told to ask for whatever we wanted, and someone would bring it. We are still waiting for that money till today,” Lalude added.
Expressing frustration and disappointment, the actor publicly invoked Yoruba curses on those who benefited from their efforts but failed to honor their promises. “Our sweat will not be in vain,” he declared, insisting that justice must prevail for those who labored without reward.
