At least 10 people were killed and seven others injured on Friday night after a suspected Boko Haram suicide bomber attacked a busy fish market in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.
The blast happened during peak trading hours at the evening market, which is often crowded with traders and residents. Witnesses said the attacker disguised himself as a regular shopper and blended into the crowd before setting off the explosive.
“The suicide bomber also died in the blast,” a security source confirmed.
Eyewitnesses say the scene was horrifying. There were bodies on the ground, and others were screaming in pain. The air was also filled with smoke and dust as people scrambled for safety.

Troops of the Nigerian Army and emergency teams arrived at the scene promptly. Those injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. The market and area around the market were sealed off by the soldiers to prevent further attacks.
Security officials have begun an investigation into the incident. The region has been facing persistent threats from Boko Haram.
This latest attack comes amid ongoing military efforts to contain insurgents in northeastern Nigeria. Despite recent successes by the armed forces, isolated bombings and ambushes continue to pose serious risks to civilians.
Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to help prevent further tragedies.
