Paul Ibe, media adviser to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has thrown stern shades at Reno Omokri for his relentless negative commentary directed at the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

In a scathing post on X (formerly Twitter), Ibe accused Omokri of using “pedestrian, acerbic and unprovoked attacks” against Obi, calling him “a classic case study in psychological projection—an insecure man so desperate to escape his own failures that he accuses others of the very flaws that define him.”

Ibe did not hold back in his critique, likening Omokri to “a Judas Iscariot—an unrepentant opportunist whose reputation precedes him like a foul stench” and warning that his loyalty is “as steady as quicksand.” He dismissed Omokri’s claim of credibility, stating, “Credibility and Reno Omokri in the same grammatical environment? Oh, what a mockery.”

He also recounted Omokri’s attempt to portray a phone conversation with Atiku as evidence of newfound support. Ibe asserted, “That phone call you trumpet was likely just another pit stop in your never-ending pilgrimage for personal ‘goodness.’”

Challenging Omokri’s moral stance, Ibe pointed to the alleged hypocrisy of criticizing others while maintaining “two wives,” calling his behavior “comedy dipped in hypocrisy.” He taunted: “You parade yourself as a pastor, but you are a pastor just like Simon the Sorcerer… Your fidelity to God, truth, and even family is non-existent.

“A man who has no qualms about having two wives preaching morality to others? That’s comedy dipped in hypocrisy. And now, you want a political wife in Tinubu and a side chick in Atiku? Sorry, Reno. Nigeria isn’t your polygamous playground. That riverside romance has failed—spectacularly. Ashawo kobo kobo!

Ibe challenged Omokri to focus on national issues rather than peddling political loyalty. He challenged him to address the controversy surrounding Bola Tinubu’s alleged certificate from a school that didn’t exist at the time. Or, “Better still, if you really care about truth and character, join the call for the FBI to release Tinubu’s drug records in the United States. Or has your newfound loyalty erased your former fire and fury about his criminal past?”

Ibe continued, deploying sharp barbs about Omokri’s shifting allegiances: “Atenu…flip opinions faster than a wind-tossed leaflet. You speak of credibility ‘unlike others.’ Others like who, Reno? The very people you once stood with before you betrayed them for crumbs and clout?” He ended his tirade by branding Omokri “expendable” and “utterly irrelevant,” warning that no amount of “delusion or self‑adulation will save you from that truth.”

Omokri, for his part, had recently stated that Atiku praised his credibility in a phone call, with Atiku reportedly telling him, “You, Reno, have credibility that others don’t have,” according to Daily Post Nigeria. Omokri also asserted that he has never criticized Atiku and that his shift in support to President Tinubu occurred without acrimony.
