The Senior Pastor of House on the Rock, Paul Adefarasin, has addressed a recent viral video that sparked controversy across social media, firmly denying accusations that he brandished a firearm during the encounter with a Tiktoker.
Speaking during Sunday service on June 8, Pastor Adefarasin said the situation is not merely an attack but spiritual wickedness, the kind of wickedness we find in high places, saying the church and Christians are at war with principalities.
He Also noted that money is the root of all evil, and the viral video is a result of the evil from the love of money, describing the situation as a case of clickbait-driven misinformation designed to attract attention and generate income at the expense of truth.
“What we witnessed was clickbaiters just looking for more money,” the pastor said during his remarks. “I was falsely accused of bearing a firearm. Of pointing a firearm at an aggressive content creator.”

The viral video, which circulated widely, showed Pastor Adefarasin in his vehicle during traffic. A content creator filming from outside captured the moment when the pastor rolled down his window and confronted the individual, holding an object that looked very much like a pistol in his hand. Online speculators quickly claimed the object was a handgun, which sparked heated debate and criticism.
However, Pastor Adefarasin clarified that the object was not a weapon and that at no point did he brandish a firearm or threaten the content creator.
“That was certainly not a firearm, and at no point did I point such at anyone,” he said in an earlier statement posted to his social media account. “We understand the concern that this accusation may have caused, and we will speak briefly to this mischief.”
During the church service, the clergyman used the opportunity to caution against the dangers of misinformation and sensationalism on social media.
